Rebecca Portnoy
founder + Consultant
Rebecca has been consulting, researching, and teaching in the areas of management and organizational development for more than 15 years. She is a Visiting Professor at both the Haas School of Business at the University of University of California, Berkeley, as well as at the Lokey School of Business & Public Policy at Mills College. She teaches Management and Organizational Development and Organizational Behavior/Leading People in the MBA and Undergraduate programs.
In addition to teaching, she is an organizational consultant to a variety of organizations in the United States. Her consulting is grounded in organizational research and will grow your organization's ability to live its mission and empower your workforce.
Her research has been published in multiple academic journals and highlighted in the Wall Street Journal, the Miami Herald, and the Lewiston Tribune. Rebecca received her Ph.D. in Management at the University of Washington Business School and her B.A. from the Cornell University School of Hotel Administration.
Geoff Desa

Geoff Desa is an Associate Professor of Strategic Management and Social Innovation at San Francisco State University. He focuses his consulting on strategy in technology ventures and social ventures. In his research, he examines entrepreneurial approaches to resource mobilization and the scalability of ventures in social entrepreneurship. Geoff has advised start-ups in academic technology, computing, and social ventures. He has served as a judge to numerous social venture business plan competitions and lectured for universities and governments. Geoff has also worked at Hewlett-Packard, Agilent Laboratories, and Novera Optics, a Silicon Valley startup. Geoff has a Ph.D. (Social Entrepreneurship and Strategic Management) from the University of Washington, an M.S (Electrical Engineering) from Stanford University, and a B.S (Electrical Engineering) from Georgia Tech (Atlanta).
Oscar Luna
Project CONSULTANT
Oscar Luna is a finance and management consulting professional. He has worked on finance projects for UC Berkeley, PG&E and Boeing. He has also been the Chief Financial Officer of The California Digital Library, and allrecipes.com.
Oscar received his MBA from Columbia Business School in New York City. He lives in Berkeley and has two children attending the Berkeley Public Schools. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Berkeley Public School Fund and a member of the Berkeley Rotary Club. Oscar loves to sail in the San Francisco Bay and share bicycle adventures with his kids.
